Launch of the Human Scale Catalogue

We invite you to the launch of the Human Scale catalogue, hosted by Ms. Ileana Tureanu, President of UAR, together with the Human Scale team: Vlad Nancă, Ioana Chifu, Onar Stănescu, Corina Bucea, and Otilia Fiastru.

A short video about Romania’s participation at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, produced by YAP studio, will also be screened.

We invite you to continue the evening with an informal presentation and a networking session in a relaxed atmosphere.

The publication includes the documentation of the Human Scale exhibition and reproductions of the works presented in the exhibition, as well as texts written by the co-authors and the curator, which present the exhibition’s conceptual framework and content. Presented in two complementary venues — the Romanian Pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale and the New Gallery of the Romanian Institute of Culture and Humanities Research in Venice — Human Scale invited a reflection on the intersection of visual arts and architecture, through a dialogue between drawings by 20th century Romanian architects and the work of contemporary artist Vlad Nancă.

Human Scale sheds new light on Romanian architecture of the last century through architects’ drawings that reveal not only a spatial vision, but also the ways in which people and public life were imagined. By examining the human silhouettes in these drawings, we gain new perspectives on how existing buildings might be adapted for the 21st century.
